President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Sunday, September 27, 2026, marking the end of his working vacation in Europe. The President, who has been away for several weeks, will arrive in Lagos to begin a series of official engagements.

According to sources within the Presidency, the President’s return to Lagos is strategic, as he is scheduled to participate in activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary. Following his arrival, he is expected to hold meetings with political leaders and associates to discuss matters concerning the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The President is expected to remain in Lagos for a few days after the anniversary to attend to official engagements before returning to Abuja next weekend.

Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30 for what was initially described as a three-week working vacation, which included time spent in London and Paris. The Presidency later extended his stay by a few days to facilitate further international engagements.
