A woman was detained by police after allegedly stripping completely naked and performing an indecent act during an American Airlines flight from Baltimore to Miami in the United States.
According to Flightdrama, an aviation-focused social media platform, the incident occurred aboard American Airlines Flight AA1779 on September 11, when cabin crew alerted the pilots after the woman reportedly removed all her clothes while seated in row nine.
An ACARS message sent from the Airbus A319 reportedly informed the crew that the passenger had “TAKEN OFF ALL HER CLOTHES” and was seen by other passengers engaging in an indecent act.
The message instructed the crew to notify American Airlines’ operations centre and arrange for law enforcement to meet the aircraft upon arrival.
Despite the incident, the pilots did not divert the flight. Flight AA1779 continued to Miami and landed safely shortly before 11:30 p.m.
Police were reportedly waiting for the aircraft when it reached the gate, and the woman was taken into custody.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
