Iranian-American journalist and activist Masih Alinejad has alleged that Iranian authorities executed rapper Erfan Mirzaei in secret at a prison in Isfahan.

Alinejad, who is the President of World Liberty Congress, which seeks to connect freedom fighters across the globe, made the claim in a post on X on Monday, September 7, 2026, accompanying it with a photograph.

According to Alinejad, Mirzaei was executed at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan early Sunday, at the time of the morning adhan, without prior warning or a final call to his family.

She said Mirzaei, a young rapper, was arrested during protests in January and was later executed in secret.

“He was a young rapper. His crime was standing against a regime that kills to survive,” Alinejad wrote.

“He sang of freedom and hope in a country where a song can cost your life.”

Describing Mirzaei as a young man remembered for his “fire, art, and big dreams,” Alinejad accused the Iranian authorities of taking his life while the world remained unaware.

She further alleged that the execution was part of a broader crackdown on protesters, claiming that the Islamic Republic was continuing to execute January protesters in prisons amid what she described as a “total news blackout.”

Alinejad said Mirzaei’s funeral was scheduled for Monday and urged people to remember him.

“Say his name. Do not let the gallows have the last word,” she wrote.
