Osun Election: Female Thug ‘Arugba’ Threatens To Cut Voters’ Fingers If They Don’t Vote APC | Sahara Reporters

A suspected female thug known as “Arugba” has allegedly threatened voters in Osun State, warning that those who fail to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during Saturday’s governorship election risk having the finger used to cast their ballot severed.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the woman was seen alongside her companions making threatening remarks and allegedly attempting to instil fear among residents ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Addressing voters in the video, she warned those who intended to vote for parties other than the APC against coming out to exercise their franchise.

“We will cut the finger you used to vote [for] any party except APC. That finger won’t follow you go back home that day,” she said.

“Let them know we are coming for them. Don’t worry to even come out to vote [if you are not going to vote for APC]. Don’t dare us. We are not making empty threats. We mean what we say.”

The threat comes amid growing concerns over political violence and intimidation in Osun State as political parties intensify mobilisation ahead of Saturday’s election.

The latest video also comes a day after Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, was invited by the police over a viral video in which he was allegedly heard threatening members of the Accord Party.

SaharaReporters reported that Fadahunsi on Wednesday honoured the police invitation and later left the Osun State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Osogbo.

SaharaReporters observed that the senator, dressed in a white native outfit and a face cap bearing symbols associated with President Bola Tinubu, departed the police facility after spending time with investigators.

He was accompanied from the police station to his vehicle by his aide and some loyalists.

The police invitation followed a viral video recorded during an APC campaign programme in Ilesa, Osun State, where Fadahunsi was allegedly heard making threatening and inflammatory remarks against members and supporters of the Accord Party.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Fadahunsi was heard in the video allegedly calling on APC supporters to attack members of the Accord Party ahead of the governorship election.

“If we hear of Accord Party again in Ilesa here for the election coming up on Saturday, you can record me and say it anywhere,” he was heard saying.

He was subsequently heard allegedly telling supporters that Accord Party members should be killed if they were seen in the area before the election.

“So we are here now to tell you that till the day of the election, if we see any Accord Party members, we’ll kill them,” he said.

Fadahunsi also allegedly warned that Accord Party members who intended to vote would not be allowed to do so and threatened traditional rulers whom he accused of supporting the opposition party.

The emergence of another viral video containing alleged threats against voters has further heightened concerns among residents and political stakeholders over the safety of voters and the possibility of intimidation during the election.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, with parties and their supporters expected to mobilise across the state.

The alleged threats have also raised questions about the preparedness of security agencies to protect voters and prevent political thuggery, intimidation and violence before, during and after the poll.

Fadahunsi is a serving senator representing Osun East Senatorial District and a member of the APC.
