EXCLUSIVE: Leaked Audio Exposes Police Corruption, Illegal Arms Deals, Threats Against Detained Ex-NYSC Member Nnamdi Emeh
In the conversation between two individuals identified as “Princess” and a male speaker, the latter alleged that Nnamdi had openly boasted about his activities and influence.
A leaked audio recording has surfaced, revealing troubling allegations of illegal arms dealings, police collusion, apparent cover-up and threats linked to a man identified as Nnamdi, amid ongoing controversy surrounding his case.
This involves officers of the Nigeria Police Force, deepening concerns over the prolonged detention of a former National Youth Service Corps member, Nnamdi Daniel Emeh.
In the conversation between two individuals identified as “Princess” and a male speaker, the latter alleged that Nnamdi had openly boasted about his activities and influence.
According to the speaker, Nnamdi appeared confident in evading authorities and dismissive of efforts to apprehend him.
“He said that he doesn’t have the brains, he told me ‘You’re my man I’ll tell you, Patrick doesn’t have the brains to look for me, he cannot find me’. He told me these things that he’s doing now, he told me [inaudible], he told me ‘No be him now go tell am wetin him go do’. So you can imagine that kind of see finish,’” the male speaker claimed.
The recording suggests that Nnamdi believed certain individuals were protecting or assisting him, while also attempting to manipulate situations to his advantage.
“He said that he’s the one who tells him what to do… without him, he’s handicapped,” the speaker added.
Alleged Illegal Firearm Dealings
One of the most serious claims in the audio is that Nnamdi allegedly sold a firearm obtained from a suspect.
“He opened his mouth and told Patrick that he will release the video and chat of when he sold a pistol that was collected from a suspect to a junior,” the male speaker said.
When pressed for clarity, the speaker added, “He, Nnamdi, sold a gun. He said there’s a chat where the junior was telling him to sell it to him. He said he has the transaction and everything.”
Claims of Police Complicity
The conversation also raises concerns about possible police involvement in the alleged misconduct.
The speakers referenced a police officer identified as “Obi,” who allegedly intervened in a previous incident involving a firearm.
“Obi had to come and claim that he slept in his house, which does not add up. Because he went to the office that day. So now, most of the evidence that he will throw, he’ll have to look at Obi too,” the male speaker said.
“If he sees videos that are extreme, the Obi guy will be there. I don’t think he will want to destroy the guy, because he holds the guy in high esteem. Because if that guy didn’t come that time to claim that gun, that matter would have been a different thing.”
The implication, according to the discussion, is that the officer may have helped shield Nnamdi from consequences.
Princess reacted with concern, saying, “Can you imagine, a police officer giving somebody gun… a corper?”
Allegations of Evidence and Extrajudicial Actions
In another part of the audio, the speakers discussed alleged extrajudicial actions, including claims that videos exist showing suspects being shot.
The audio further suggests that Nnamdi may be in possession of sensitive and potentially incriminating materials.
“There are videos that he says he has where they are shooting suspects,” the male speaker said.
The recording further reveals attempts to track and apprehend Nnamdi, with references to ethnic tensions and plans by individuals to trace his family home in Abia State.
The speaker also claimed that Nnamdi deliberately gathers compromising information on others as leverage.
“To him, he wants to have things on the people around him… so he’ll have something to fight them with.”
Threats, Tracking, and Rising Tensions
The conversation indicates that efforts may be underway to locate and apprehend Nnamdi, with references to tracking his identity and origin.
“There’s something a man told me. He said that they have told them about the tracker, that the name he goes by is Nnamdi and he’s from Abia state. They said they are having meetings and there’s no way they will keep quiet (ignore) and let someone from Abia State come and damage their place (home),” Prince said.
“That it will not work. That they are going to follow him up. I think they’re even tracing his father’s house. [inaudible] I don’t know. They’re tracing him by all means.”
The remarks also hint at rising tensions and possible ethnic undertones in the pursuit.
Personal Targeting and Reputation Concerns
Princess, who appears to feel personally targeted, accused Nnamdi of attempting to damage her reputation.
“It is well. It’s the people that are telling him, he’s the one that knows the people that are telling him that I bought Hilux white and black. I don’t know. Who knows whether even Harrison is telling him something. I don’t know what they’re talking about and I don’t know what the guy is saying,” Princess said.
“But he touched the wrong person and he must go down. He must be arrested and persecuted. He must. He must go in for what he has done. You see this my name he has condemned, name I made for myself. You know it is not everybody you just condemn their name and go scout free.”
“He didn’t look at all these things, his youth service. Please do me a favour. I want you to call the guy. So that you’ll ask him where the money of the suspect is. To know what he’ll tell you. Ask him another thing, what does he stand to gain my destroying people’s name?” she said.
Questions Over NYSC Posting
The conversation also raised questions about Nnamdi’s deployment as a youth corps member, suggesting inconsistencies in his posting.
“I saw his posting letter, they didn’t post him to Awkuzu. [inaudible] It’s just four months he has served,” the male speaker said.
The leaked audio surfaced amid fresh outcry from Prof. John Kanu Emeh, who has accused the Nigeria Police Force of unlawfully detaining his son, Nnamdi Daniel Emeh, for over three years.
According to Prof. Emeh, his son, a young IT specialist serving with the police during his NYSC, was initially involved in assisting security agencies in tracking a terrorism suspect linked to the alleged importation of grenades from Istanbul.
He said the suspect, identified as Chibuike Ekwueme, was eventually arrested through a joint operation involving the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu, the Department of State Services, and other agencies.
However, the professor alleged that shortly after the operation, his son became a target.
The police, he said, declared Nnamdi wanted in February 2023 over claims that he authored a social media report exposing abuses by the Awkuzu-based police unit, an allegation he described as fabricated.
Fearing for his life, Nnamdi reportedly fled to Cotonou, Benin Republic but was later repatriated and detained on March 3, 2023.
Despite being arraigned on a 12-count charge and granted bail by a Federal High Court in Awka on May 17, 2023, Nnamdi has remained in custody.
Prof. Emeh alleged that police officers deliberately frustrated efforts to perfect the bail conditions by intimidating potential sureties.
He further claimed that even after a Deputy Court Registrar confirmed that bail conditions had been met and a release warrant was signed in May 2024, the police filed legal motions to block his release.
