Armed bandits have reportedly abducted the children of the brother-in-law of Gurara TV Chief Executive Officer, Comrade Ernest Thyek Maidawa, in Rimi Village, Kaduna State.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of residents in vulnerable communities across Kaduna State, particularly amid persistent attacks and abductions by armed criminal groups.
The victims’ connection to the family of a media executive has also heightened concerns over the safety of journalists, media workers and their relatives in areas affected by insecurity.
Residents have called on security agencies to urgently intensify surveillance and security operations in the community and adjoining areas to secure the safe release of the abducted children.
Gurara TV also appealed to security agencies and relevant authorities to treat the incident as an emergency and deploy all necessary resources to secure the victims’ release.
The station urged members of the public with credible information that could assist security agencies in locating the victims or apprehending the perpetrators to report immediately to the appropriate authorities.
The abduction adds to growing concerns over the security situation in rural communities across Kaduna State, where residents remain vulnerable to attacks and kidnappings.
SaharaReporters learnt that Gurara TV is monitoring the situation and has promised to provide further updates as verified information becomes available.
However, efforts to reach the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansur Hassan, for comment and an update were unsuccessful, as he neither answered calls to his phone nor responded to a message sent to him.
