A group of youths in the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has said it is ready to lead mobilisation efforts to secure overwhelming support from young voters across the 18 local government areas of the state for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.

The group, under the auspices of the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu, said it was a coalition comprising multiple youth associations and organisations across the state, promising to deliver over one million votes from young people for the President.

In a statement issued on Monday in Akure, the state capital, the Director-General of the group, Mr Thalis Apalowo, said the alliance was working towards sweeping all youth votes in the state come 2027.

According to the statement, the group said the President deserved the support of young voters as he had “set Nigeria on the path to greatness through bold and transformative reforms addressing long-standing national challenges.”

The statement read, “In less than two years, young Nigerians have witnessed significant steps taken to end petroleum subsidies and stabilise the foreign exchange system.

“Access to higher education has been made easier through the student loan initiative. Today, more young people—especially in Ondo State—are establishing small and medium enterprises, which remain the backbone of every thriving economy. The achievements are numerous.

“The best way to appreciate these efforts is to ensure President Tinubu’s return to office in 2027.

“We will deploy our collective strength, mobilisation capacity, grassroots networks, organisational structure, communication channels, and every available resource to guarantee his re-election.”

He disclosed that OYAT was sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, commending the minister for championing Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“When the minister assumed office, he moved quickly into action. Over 200,000 passport backlogs were cleared.

:The introduction of e-gates eased airport traffic and reduced human contact—an important step in curbing corruption.

“A new Data Control Centre and several innovative reforms across agencies under the ministry have also been delivered,” he noted.

The DG further stated that the group would convene policy dialogues, reform-centred conversations, town hall summits, and community development projects across the state, working with thousands of Ondo youths and residents.
