Two lives were lost in a tragic motor accident on Thursday along the Dutse-Kafin Hausa Road in Rumfa Biyu village, the Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Jigawa State.
The state police command’s spokesperson, Shi’isu Adam, confirmed the accident to PUNCH Online on Thursday, saying, “We received a distress call around 2 pm on Thursday, reporting a fatal motor accident at Rumfa Biyu village.
“Our officers immediately responded to the scene, and we can confirm that two people lost their lives in the accident.”
The PPRO further revealed that two people were rushed to Kafin Hausa Hospital for treatment, while three others were taken to Dala Orthopaedic Hospital in Kano for urgent medical attention.
The identities of the deceased have not been disclosed as authorities work to notify their families.
Eyewitnesses described the crash as devastating, with one, Musa Illah, sahinh, “It was a terrible sight to behold.”
Another eyewitness, Sani Sha’aibu, said, “The cars were badly damaged, and it was clear that the accident was fatal.”
While the cause of the crash is yet to be determined, Adam assured all that investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
“We will do everything in our power to determine the cause of the accident and dig into details of the incident in a short while,” he stated.
