Shettima visits victims of Borno mosque bomb blast

Vice President Kashim Shettima has visited victims of the recent bomb blast at Gamboru Market Mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, offering condolences and pledging support to those affected.

According to a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Spokesman and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), Shettima met with victims receiving medical treatment and conveyed the sympathy of President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government.

The Vice President assured the injured and the families of the victims that the government would continue to provide the necessary assistance in the wake of the tragic incident.

โ€œVice President Kashim Shettima #officialSKSM has visited victims of the bomb blast at the Gamboru Market Mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, to commiserate with those injured and families affected by the tragic incident.

โ€œThe Vice President met with victims receiving treatment and conveyed the sympathy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu #officialABAT and the Federal Government #NigeriaGov, assuring them of the governmentโ€™s continued support,โ€ he wrote.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that at least five people were confirmed dead, while 35 others sustained injuries following the explosion at Al-Adum Jumaat Mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.

The blast occurred on Wednesday, during the evening Maghrib prayer session, heightening the tragedy for worshippers at the mosque.
