Ahead of Sunday’s upcoming Sallah celebrations, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, said on Saturday that the command has deployed adequate personnel to enhance security.
In a statement on Saturday, he said, “The command under the stewardship of CP Bello Shehu has deployed adequate personnel, operational assets, and enhanced visibility patrols across the state to ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens before, during, and after the Sallah celebration.”
He noted that the command called on recalcitrant elements who may attempt to foment trouble during the celebrations to desist from such actions.
“The command, in collaboration with sister security agencies as well as all relevant security stakeholders in the state, is fully prepared to deal decisively with any troublemakers.
“The CP called on parents/guardians to caution their children/wards against engaging in acts that contradict the law, as the command will not tolerate any form of lawlessness or disruption of public peace,” he added.
He further called on the people of the state to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable Sallah celebration. He reemphasised the command’s commitment towards providing watertight security during this period.
“In case of any emergency or security concern, members of the public are advised to make use of the emergency numbers below for timely report and swift response by the command on, 08156977777, 0707 272 2539, 090538722471,” Sadiq added.
