The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau, has praised President Bola Tinubu for reviving the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries.

The speaker said he believed the move was a significant step toward addressing the nation’s challenges.

Jatau made this statement on Wednesday during a New Year Church Service at ECWA Goodnews, Garaku, Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State.

He urged Nigerians not to lose hope in spite of the challenges facing the country, which he said were surmountable.

He emphasised the importance of praying for leaders to succeed, citing the revival of the refineries as a positive development.

Jatau also thanked God for the Dangote refinery, which has led to a drop in fuel prices.

He commended Tinubu for his efforts in reviving the economy, stating that the economy was changing positively.

The speaker urged Christians and other Nigerians to embrace forgiveness, live in unity and peace, and tolerate one another, regardless of their affiliations.

“Forgiveness is essential for God to accept people’s prayers and peace is a requirement for the development of any society,” he said.

He prayed for a prosperous new year, calling on Christians and others to continue praying for and supporting Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed.

Jatau appreciated Governor Sule’s developmental efforts in the state.

Also, the Executive Chairman of Kokona LGA, Mr Mek Agbawu, called for forgiveness and peace for the overall development of the area.

Agbawu urged Christians to have faith in God and live exemplary lives.

He listed his blueprint for development, which includes agriculture, education, health, youth and women empowerment, among others.

The Reverend in charge of ECWA Goodnews, Garaku, Rev. Bitrus Kaya, also urged Christians not to insult leaders but to pray for them.

He quoted Jeremiah 29: 10-15 to emphasise the importance of seeking God in daily activities.

“Every challenge facing the country has an expiration date and with God, everything is possible, and the challenges will be overcome,” he said.
