Even though she had been in the news for saying that she had dumper her family name and that no relative had reached out to her after her decision, reality TV star and actress, Ijeoma Otabor, aka Phyna, has maintained that she is living her dreams.
Speaking in an encounter with Saturday Beats, she said, “I have always wanted to be an actress, even when I was in school. If I heard about an audition in Zamfara State, I was ready to go there. It is more like a dream come true for me, because I am now living my dreams.”
The winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7 also stated that her journey into Nollywood was swift. She said, “My journey into Nollywood has been very fast. At some point, I used to count how many movies I had done in the past two years, and then I lost count. For sure, I have come so far, and I’m so excited. I can’t wait to get into 2025, start doing big screens, and accomplish even more things.”
When asked about plans to transition into filmmaking, Phyna expressed her intention to explore the field later in her career. “Being a filmmaker is something I want to do later on. I have already done two YouTube movies for myself, but it’s something I plan to pursue more in my 30s. I’m still in my 20s and just getting started. Entertainment, in general, is what I’m in for, and I’m ready for it,” she said.
