Afrobeats artiste, Adedoyin Adepoju, professionally known as BadboyTrue, says he draws inspiration from musicians who built themselves from scratch, stayed true to their sound, and transformed personal struggles into success.
In a statement shared with Saturday Beats, he said, “Their stories remind me that greatness is a product of perseverance, and that inspires me and motivates me in every aspect of my life.”
The artiste, formerly signed to 20s Melodies Limited, explained his approach to music. “I make music from real-life stories, emotions you can feel, and situations you can relate to. My sound is where rhythm meets reality, creating vibes that speak to both the heart and the streets. I like to say I’m a product of life itself, through dedication, hustle, and constant self-development. Every day I’m learning through music, collaboration, and the experiences life throws at me,” he said.
Discussing the challenges of the industry, the singer said, “The biggest challenge is cutting through the noise, staying consistent, and staying true to myself in an industry that changes constantly. Visibility is also tough, but I embrace the grind; it’s all part of building my sound and my brand.”
Speaking about his latest single, ‘Away’, he described it as “a powerful blend of emotion, rhythm, and real-life storytelling. He added, “It reflects where I’m at right now—focused, matured, and hungry for more. The song was inspired by ambition, moments of love, betrayal, and self-belief. It’s a song born from real experiences.”
Looking ahead to 2026, the artist promised fans more growth and energy. “Expect better sound, deeper stories, consistency, visibility, and a whole new level of energy. I’m just getting started, and trust me, the best is yet to come,” he said.
