Following the success of the 2025 Lagos AutoFest held at the Marina waterfront on Sunday, December 21, the organisers — BMW Club of Nigeria and Work and Play Promotions — have announced December 20, 2026, as the date for the next edition.
The motorsports exhibition brought together over 100 car and bike enthusiasts in a vibrant showcase of automotive excellence, captivating thousands of spectators and reinforcing the growing appeal of motorsports in Nigeria.
The event began years ago as a grassroots initiative by the BMW Club of Nigeria and Work and Play Promotions has steadily evolved into a major platform for the industry. This year’s edition featured an impressive collection of luxury vehicles, high-performance cars and custom bikes, marking what organisers described as a “first-of-its-kind” milestone for motorsports in the country.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, President of Work and Play Promotions, Adeoye Ojuoko, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the private sector and government institutions in delivering a successful event.
“The backing we’ve received from the Lagos State Government and the National Automotive Design and Development Council has been a game-changer,” Ojuoko said.
“This support isn’t just symbolic—it is driving real, tangible growth. We are now seeing the local fabrication of race cars, something that was almost unimaginable a few years ago.
“When you combine grassroots passion with institutional support, you create the conditions for an industry to thrive. AutoFest 2025 is proof of that. It has grown from a gathering of enthusiasts into a professionally organised, nationally significant event that creates employment and promotes our culture.”
The organisers also expressed appreciation to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his continued commitment to the “Greater Lagos” vision.
The success of the festival was further strengthened by the support of the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Seun Osiyemi; Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu; Director General of the NADDC, Oluwawemimo Joseph Osanipin; and several Lagos State agencies whose collaboration ensured a safe, seamless and world-class experience.
The overwhelming success of the 2025 edition has further legitimised motorsports in Nigeria, attracting international attention and inspiring a new generation of automotive and motorsports professionals.
Work and Play Promotions and the BMW Club of Nigeria remain Nigeria’s leading motorsports promoters, committed to developing the automotive ecosystem, promoting local engineering and positioning the country on the global motorsports map through consistent, high-quality events.
